From boardroom to boardwalk with Marella's LBD

Marella is a hybrid between Max & Co and Max Mara. Until recently it was not a store that I ventured into for staple pieces. If I'm honest, I found it a little boring. However, I feel that Marella has enjoyed a revival with many of its recent campaigns been led by Miranda Kerr. Marella’s latest collections have been designed with the dynamic and modern woman in mind.

Like many women I gravitate towards pieces that are versatile, strike a good quality-price balance and of course make me feel confident about my style. As a businesswoman I believe it’s important to dress for myself, not others. This black dress from Marella checks of these boxes. It also checks my bonus box…it has pockets big enough to conceal an iPhone!

For post work drinks with friends at Robertos, I decided to ditch my heels for these felt sneakers by Joshua Sanders. I threaded a Saint Laurent chain metal belt through a Hermes scarf to create my statement necklace. Off duty shades by Ksubi. And finally, a pair of leather pants converts this Marella dress into a tunic and achieves an edger look than wearing tights.

This dress is cut on the bias - instant figure forgiveness! It works well with heels or flats. On one hand there is sufficient detail in the dress to encourage my laziness and forego accessories for a daytime look. On the other hand, the dress is simple enough to support a killer statement necklace. It took me from boardroom to boardwalk in a couple of simple style steps. At AED675 (USD$180) it's bang on point for price.

This is not a sponsored feature, it is HSQ's honest point of view. Style yourself with confidence and smash this week into next.
